I believe my back pain developed mostly from sitting at a desk all day for the past ten years, so I recently got out of the workforce. My lifestyle outside of work was – and still is – very active. I biked, hiked, did yoga and Pilates, and even strength training. However, my back pain got to the point where I was slow getting dressed in the morning and would have to forgo my workouts occasionally because I was afraid they would aggravate my back. I even tried standing at work, but it didn’t really help.
At the beginning, I tried to relieve the pain by stretching or doing additional exercises, but finally ended up at the chiropractor two times a week, where I was able to experience some relief, but not enough to make a big difference. I decided to back off the chiropractor though when I felt they were getting a little too “salesy,” and tried to start over by paring my routine down to the basics.
I heard about Nuspine through their user testing program, and it appealed to me because it was all about the basics. I figured that for the small amount of money the program it was worth trying it out, considering all the years I had suffered with my back problem and money spent on pain relievers and chiropractors. I did the program on my laptop every day for a month, committing to using it every afternoon when I was most limber and flexible.
Nuspine’s focus on breathing and alignment were just what I needed – making the program unique and relaxing. I found it was different than yoga, where the focus was more on the poses; here it was all about the breath and I found that very challenging and effective.
Before, just putting on my socks and shoes in the morning was a challenge, and now I can move more freely and not feel so constrained. I really notice a big difference, especially when I’m bending down. I’ve recently gotten back on my bike and not had any stiffness and tension in my lower back like before. I still go back to the Nuspine program occasionally so I don’t start feeling the discomfort again, and I love to pick and choose the various modules to work on.
I’ve definitely told my friends about the program and recommended it on Facebook. Today, I feel in more control of my back pain and it’s easier for me to do the things I love. I realized I don’t have to live with back pain and it doesn’t have to be about always pushing myself to lose weight or gain strength.
